No trip to London is complete without experiencing the great British breakfast! This experience, starring the most important meal of the day, is the perfect way to start your day in London combining great food with storytelling and some sights from off the beaten track.

After many years of very tasty research, The London Storyteller believes that the breakfast featured on this tour is the best British breakfast in the city. Its a lot more than just bacon and eggs!
There’s also a great choice from the menu for alternative options for those with a more adventurous palette to explore including vegetarian options.
This tour doesn’t just promise a tasty traditional English breakfast but also explores authentic local London life in a way that others tours do not reach!

You can choose between heading straight to the restaurant or enjoying a relaxing stroll through one of London’s most diverse preservation areas and a secret nature walk.

After breakfast, you’ll be taken to one of the highest points in London located at a Victorian pleasure palace to take in the view of the finest city on earth!

TOUR ITINERARY

Discover an authentic slice of local London with storytelling and best British breakfast in town!

Meeting Point: Finsbury Park Station

We’ll meet at the conveniently located Finsbury Park Station (on Victoria, Piccadilly underground lines), before exploring some of the local area for a short off-the-beaten track tour of local London. Please note, if you would prefer to head straight to the restaurant we can do this either by public transport, taxi or plan in advance as part of a pick up service.

Explore The Local Area

We’ll take a short, appetite inducing stroll through the local neighbourhood. Many of my guests enjoy choosing a secret nature walk route along offering a green, pleasant and more direct route to the restaurant. This is great opportunity to ask all those questions you may have about London, seeing some of London’s victorian heritage as well as hearing stories about famous faces associated with the local area from Bob Dylan and Stephen King to Ray Davies and Simon Pegg.

Authentic Full English Breakfast

Chosen from years of tasty research and based upon local knowledge, this is The London Storyteller’s top tip for the best British breakfast in town. The menu offers classic meat and vegetarian variants of the classic British start to the day but there’s also a great choice from the menu of other options which is eclectic. The restaurant itself is something of a local landmark and also has some great family friendly touches too and for those who have enjoyed a rather exuberant side of London life the night before, excellent Bloody Marys. Your booking includes your breakfast based upon a main breakfast option from the menu (or items of equivalent value) and hot drinks. Breakfast will be hosted by The London Storyteller full off anecdotes and stories about London life and legends. This is a privately hosted experience on a personable basis.

Victorian Pleasure Palace & Terrific Views

After breakfast you can choose to join The London Storyteller on a relaxing stroll to one of the highest points in London where a one-of-a-kind Victorian Pleasure Palace is situated offering superb views of the city. Its heritage stretches back over a 150 years and has been a significant location for some iconic moments in British cultural history during the 20th century. You can choose either to take a conveniently located local bus back to the station or to continue exploring independently by cab one of the nearby charming London villages such as Highgate or Hampstead. We will help you to find your way to your next adventure here in the finest city on earth.

Experience Notes

This tour begins outside Finsbury Park Station at Station Place.  Finsbury Park is a short ride from central London (circa 20 minutes from Green Park) on either the Victoria or Piccadilly tube lines.  It is also well connected by bus and by rail.  Upon request we can also make arrangement to bring you to the meeting point by private hire vehicle if you would prefer.

The standard tour will end at Finsbury Park Station though many of our guests have enjoyed the option of extending the tour prior arrangement.

We really enjoyed our time with Tom. He was so friendly and engaging. He has an amazing wealth of knowledge about English history and especially the history of the area of the tour. I asked him about British royalty lineage and my husband wanted to know about water distribution/sewer systems and he knew about both! He made sure to know what our preferences were, as far as dietary restrictions ad walking preferences and general interests, and took us on a very nice walk to breakfast (delicious!) and through a very pleasant green belt path to a wonderful spot for a view of London. Be aware that this is not a downtown, tourist-heavy tour of London, but a little on the periphery, which was perfect for us, since we had seen the big-name sights already. If you want a local vibe (not touristy), this is perfect!

"We wanted to have a tour out of the beaten paths, with the eyes of a real local. We are happy to have found Tom, who has designed for us the perfect tour and a great introduction for our short stay in London. The tour itself was very pleasant and informative. But Tom went above our expectations, giving us a great idea about where to stay in London and lots of useful tips. We warmly recommend you to book a tour with Tom, the storyteller. You will be in capable hands!"

Tom is a great guide. The tour through London was personalized. Because we had seen all the highlights in London before, Tom took us to lesser known places. After a very good English breakfast, he took us to Ally Pally and to some hidden gems. Tom knows a lot about the history of London and tells fascinating stories. We highly recommend Tom. Thanks for a great day!

My wife and I had a great time with Tom, we did a good bit of walking to our breakfast place. He took us to a small local restaurant and we had great breakfast food. Tom was very knowledgeable and provided us with a nice glimpse into local British culture. For the time Tom spent with us I feel this was a very good deal for the money spent. I would definitely recommend Tom for a local guide!
