Great Americans In The Finest City On Earth

This tour salutes Great Americans who are celebrated and in some cases lived as Londoners.  It explores some of the fascinating historical links between London and the United States which have in many cases shaped the world. 

Based upon a three hour walking tour that can be expanded to include visiting inside Ben Franklin’s House, Jimi Hendrix’s flat and other bespoke options including pubs and dining; this experience takes you through some of London’s highlights as well as lesser spotted sights along the way. 

Featuring great figures including Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Jimi Hendrix, Benjamin Franklin and William Penn, it offers a fond reflection upon the cultural ties that bind Britain with its friends across the Atlantic ocean.

George Washington, Franklin Roosevelt, Jimi Hendrix, Ben Franklin are just a few of the Great Americans featured on this tour around London mixed some surprises along the way. We'll also delve into some of the stories associated with the United States and its links with London over the years.

Experience London through the stories of Great Americans

Meeting Point: Marble Arch Station
We’ll meet outside Marble Arch Station on the corner of Hyde Park. Pick ups are available at extra charge.
Chapter One: Leaders Of The Western World
Beginning in the West End of the city we pick up the trail of some celebrated former Presidents of the United States in London.
Chapter Two: Selfridges & Co.
We take a visit to the store created by Harry Selfridge and which is still one of London’s most iconic spots for shopping with its impressive Beaux Arts architecture,
Chapter Three: Law & Order
We’ll pay homage to a great American lawyer, statesman and one of the United States’ finest who was a trained in the great tradition of English Common Law.
Chapter Four: The First American
Ben Franklin was one of Britain’s great pioneering thinkers, makers and statesmen. He was also a Londoner for 20 years but in the last twenty years of life he became The First American. Visiting inside Ben Franklin’s House is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Chapter Five: The Father Of Democracy
We visit the place where William Penn’s life began and touch upon some of the remarkable circumstances that shaped and informed his eventual legacy.
