London Under Fire: WW2 & The Blitz Tour

The Greatest Target On Earth

This privately guided three hour tour takes you across central London and explores the city’s history during World War Two and the Blitz.

Taking in some of the remaining sites and the legacy of the city’s story when under fire in the 1940s; you’ll also delve into some of the broader aspects of Britain’s role in the conflict, its politics and the key figures who influenced the outcome.  More than just a collections of sites and photographs showing the scale of the damage, this tour also gives you an opportunity to find out more about Britain’s response and how the key turning point of the Battle of Britain played a critical role with other key moments in the conflict’s history to securing victory over Nazi Germany.

Heading from east to west through the City of London and into Westminster; you’ll see many of the major landmarks of the city mixed with hidden hinterlands and lesser spotted sights that help to show a different side of the city.

Suitable for intrepid individuals, couples, families, teams and classes alike; as a private tour, you can dig deeper through discussion with your well informed host, The London Storyteller, over the course of your experience.

By prior arrangement, this tour can be adapted and/or extended to include relevant museum visits to places such as the Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast, the Imperial War Museum and the RAF Museum in Hendon by contacting info@thelondonstoryteller.com.
