Who Is The London Storyteller?
The London Storyteller, is Thomas Barclay Matchett, a cultural historian with a passion for sharing insight into the vocational art and science of storytelling.
A creative producer specialising in audio visual media; Tom is a storyteller through images, words and music.
He launched The London Storyteller as a way combine his passions for meeting new people and telling the many stories that the city offers. He has overseen its subsequent evolution to expand into thought leadership, team building and technological advances in the form of storytelling through augmented reality.
Prior to founding The London Storyteller he worked across a diverse range of sectors from publishing to private medical with a specialism in entertainment and digital platforms. He has led teams to develop innovative new digital products and is a qualified advocate of the agile development framework; scrum.
As a musician and writer, he has performed and toured internationally. He has made films about leading international fine artists and continues to develop new innovative creative work.
As a content producer, he has produced documentary videos exploring the work of leading artists, bespoke private commissions for team development and overseen broadcasts of leading international art festivals.
He is a double graduate of the University of Kent with his thesis on the Revolutionary Life & Art of Gustav Metzger noted as a major contribution to art history.
His interests include music, film, art, motor racing, architecture, technology and history. His favourite band is The Who and in 2010 organised a convention for Who fans.
He has lived in London’s Crouch End for nearly twenty years enjoying stunning views of the finest city on earth from one of its highest points.
